What it means
Describes a man who believed he was the hard one, until a moment of pure karma removed the belief in front of an audience. It happens physically, when the wrong stranger is chosen; rhetorically, when the argument dies live on air; and ideologically, when a teenager asks one polite question and the entire worldview falls over.
What it actually means
He was the toughest man in the car park until somebody tougher turned up, and the same thing happens every time he unmutes.
How it is used in a sentence
"He started road rage on an unmarked police car and got demasculated in front of his girlfriend. Then he went live to explain why he was right and got demasculated again by the replies."
Why this one is here
English already has emasculated, which means a man has been deprived of his standing by somebody else. This is the other one. Nobody took it from him: he performed hardness in public, the world declined to cooperate, and the fall was self-inflicted and filmed. That distinction is the whole joke, and it is the reason the word is worth having.
